The Empire of Myrotania is a serious micronation located in the United Kingdom. The micronation is an abolute monarchy under the rule of H.I.M. Thomas I, Emperor. The current area claimed is just under 5000 square feet of ground in the North of England.

 

In Myrotania, we have one official language: a language created by Thomas I and intended to be based on the Dutch Language. Despite the language's official status; everyone speaks English and English is used in documentation and conversation - so there is absolutely no need to learn Myrotanian!

 

Our current population is 20 (including 5 honorary members: knights of the Order of the Yellow Dragons)  and we are constantly growing (for example, you may become a citizen free or charge and have a passport sent to you with no costs or obligations by clicking on "Become a Citizen"

 

The official religion in Myrotania is Roman Catholicism, however, as with any nation, there is complete freedom of religion and we have citizens of all faiths!

 

The currency we use is the British Pound Sterling (£ - GBP) but as a lot of our payments are done online these days, it doesn't really matter what currency we use.

Executive power in Myrotania is exercised by the Emperor, via His Imperial Majesty's Government (the unicameral legislature of Myrotania through the Myrotanian National Party. As Myrotania is an absolute monarchy, our Emperor is both head of state and head of government, however, a de facto Prime Minister may be appointed by the Emperor as acting head of government. Any citizen can be appointed as Prime Minister, so if you want to become Prime Minister: become a citizen and then contact the Emperor for details.

 

The legislature of government in Myrotania is called the Congressus Unius and is a unicameral single-party legislature, with one seat (as of now): that of the Emperor.

 

Currently, Myrotania only consists of a single party. The party in power over Myrotania is the aforementioned Myrotanian National Party,w hose current leader is the Emperor: Thomas I. Myrotania's single-party status is, however, unintentional and Myrotania would like to spread out it's poltical spectrum; so, once again, if any citizen wants to create a party within Myrotania: they are free to do so.

 

The Myrotanian National Party  (MNP) is the only active political party within the Empire and they are a right-wing party with ideologies of micronational independance and conservatism. The Party's slogan is Greek: Ελευθερία ή θάνατος (Eleftheria i thanatos) which means 'freedom or death'
